Colic in Horses Treatment
Colic is one of the most common equine health issues. The treatment for colic differs as per the severity and the underlying problems. In some severe cases surgical intervention would be required. It is good to contact the veterinarian as soon as you find your horse suffering from colic and exhibiting violent behaviors. You can make the horse walk a bit while the Vet is on the way. This will distract the horse from the pain. During this panicky period it would be very tempting to administer medication to your horse as per your understanding. Administering medication without the consultation of the Vet could cause bigger problems, which is why it is good to wait. A Vet will perform various tests to assess the problem and will give the appropriate treatment.
Colic can be avoided by feeding clean, mould free and high quality fiber to your horse. Maintaining regular feeding schedule and avoiding feed changes can also help reduce colic in horses. Providing clean water to your horse is also important. Water and hay should be fed before grain. Regular exercise, regular de-worming and not feeding your horse immediately after exercising will also help prevent colic. It is good to discuss the diet for your horse with the veterinarian.

I don’t really believe that Aroma therapy can heal the body, may be the mind, but as per many it can ease out the colic from your horse’s body.
