Colic in Horses Treatment
Colic is one of the most common equine health issues. The treatment for colic differs as per the severity and the underlying problems. In some severe cases surgical intervention would be required. It is good to contact the veterinarian as soon as you find your horse suffering from colic and exhibiting violent behaviors. You can make the horse walk a bit while the Vet is on the way. This will distract the horse from the pain. During this panicky period it would be very tempting to administer medication to your horse as per your understanding. Administering medication without the consultation of the Vet could cause bigger problems, which is why it is good to wait. A Vet will perform various tests to assess the problem and will give the appropriate treatment.
